Adam BasterfieldAdam Basterfield - guitar, keys, vocals

Adam Basterfield is something of an enigma. Also known as King Tarkis, Adam is kind to his many subjects. His joyful presence has graced a number of local Victoria-based bands, such as Redbyrd, The Price is Right and Old Town Fuzz.

He started playing acoustic guitar at age 11, and picked up the electric at 14. His influences include Pink Floyd, Phish, Beatles, The Band, B.B. King, Soft Machine, and Steely Dan. He can play harmonica, drums, keys, organ, bass, wineglasses and sing, as well as play guitar.

It has been commented that he is a doppleganger for a young David Gilmour (Pink Floyd). He has played numerous live shows with The Caroline Spence Band and Permanent Frequency, including two cross Canada tours. Adam is currently completing his diploma in Jazz Studies at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Adam has been a contributing member of the Caroline Spence Band since 2006, and is now proud to be a founding member of Crimson Star.

Fun Facts: Adam is great fun at parties because he has perfect pitch. He should also never be let near any ukelele under any circumstances!
