If you like eclectic, lyric-focused music infused with a mix of stylings that bring out the emotional truth of each song, along with smooth, resonant and lush vocals, you will like Crimson Star. The progressive-folk-rock sound is similar in style to Fleetwood Mac, Bat for Lashes, early Genesis, The Smiths, Kate Bush, This Mortal Coil, and Siouxie Sioux, if you mix until well blended and add a touch of gothic harmonies ala Cocteau Twins.
Crimson Star (formerly Caroline Spence Band) are currently working on a new full-length album set for release in Fall 2009. In the meanwhile, you can listen to their studio EP, 'hello' and their live album, 'Live at the Glenn Lake Inn'. The single from the hello EP, 'Hey, Gemini' won The Great Canadian Talent Search (sponsored by Canadian Musician Magazine).
